On the 11th May, 2024, at St. Nicholas Parish, Mikese, Morogoro, Tanzania witnessed the solemn celebration of the First Profession of 9 Novices from St. Montfort Novitiate, Mikese. Two novices were from Philippines and the rest were from the Province of East Africa. Fr. Salvinus  Kwembe, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Morogoro presided over the Eucharistic Celebration. Bro. John Britto Antonysamy, the Sector Superior of Philippines, the delegate of the Provincial Superior of Bengaluru Province, received the vows of the Novices from Philippines, while Bro. Jimmy Kalapurayil, the Provincial Superior received the vows of the Novices from the Province of East Africa. There were over 500 people who participated in the celebration along with a number of religious men and women. Brothers’ representatives were there from all the communities of Tanzania and Kenya. After the Eucharistic celebration, the newly professed were felicitated and meals were served for all. The message of the Superior General was read out by the Provincial Superior and he exhorted the newly professed to be authentic religious and Montfortian Prophets in the 21st Century. All in all, it was a grand, colorful and long celebration. Hats off to the Novice Master, Bro. Anicet Nsingizimana and Bro. Alexis Nibigira, the Socius for their hard work and planning. Indeed, the Congregation is blessed to have 9 more members and it is a moment to render thanks to God for calling these young men and their readiness and enthusiasm to respond to his invitation in their lives. Let us continue to accompany them by our prayers and may the Holy Spirit lead them and strengthen them.
