125 Years of Gabrielite Educational Mission in Thailand
Bangkok, 5–7 October 2026
From 5 to 7 October 2026, the Province of Thailand celebrated the 125th Anniversary of the educational mission of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel in Thailand with three days of activities in Bangkok, under the theme:
"125 YEARS OF WISDOM, BEYOND BOUNDARIES OF LEARNING"
The celebrations were attended by the Brothers of the Central Administration: Brother Dionigi Taffarello, Superior General; Brother Pratap Reddy, Vicar General; and Brother Dhana Raj and Brother Varghese Mandapathil, Assistants General.
Day 1 – FSG Academic Expo 2026
The programme opened on 5 October with the FSG Academic Expo 2026 at Assumption College, Bang Rak. The Expo brought together the educational institutions of the Saint Gabriel's Foundation of Thailand. It featured student work, Regional Projects, academic competitions, workshops and the 125 Years FSG Exhibition. Subjects ranged from languages, science, technology and the arts to artificial intelligence, aviation and digital learning.
One of the competitions was the FSG x Fastmath Royal Championship 2026. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted Royal Trophies for this championship.
Day 2 – FSG Annual Symposium 2026
On 6 October, the Brothers and co-administrators of the schools gathered at Assumption College for the FSG Annual Symposium 2026. Its theme was "A Legacy of Wisdom: 125 Years for the Future of Education." The symposium addressed major questions facing education today: the formation of young people in the age of artificial intelligence, moral and ethical education, educational leadership and education for sustainable development. Participants also considered these questions in light of the identity and mission of Montfortian-Gabrielite education.
Day 3 – Solemn Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration
The programme concluded on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, with the Solemn Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration at Assumption Cathedral, Bang Rak, Bangkok.
The Thanksgiving Mass was offered for the 125 years of the educational mission of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel in Thailand. It also celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession of: Brother Paul Phiraphongs Darathai, SG and Brother Gabriel Sirichai Fonseka, F.S.G.
Most Rev. Silvio Siripong Charatsri, Bishop of Ratchaburi, presided over the Eucharistic celebration and participated Brother Dionigi Taffarello, Superior General, with the Vicar General and the two Assistants General, the Provincial Superior and the Brothers of the Province, Bishops, Priests, Religious, educators, alumni, parents, students, collaborators and invited guests
The celebration gave thanks for the mission that began in Thailand in 1901. It also honoured the many Brothers, educators and collaborators who have served generations of young people over the past 125 years.
