MONTFORT CENTRE FOR EDUCATION

MONTFORT INNOVATION TIME -  2024

The D-Day dawned on Saturday, 7th September 2024, and the nearly 300 young boys and girls of Montfort Schools at Abhayapuri, Guwahati, Jonglapara, Bolchugre and Tura, gathered at Montfort Centre for Education, Tura. The eager eyes and the friendly interactions had a tale to tell, a story of friendship and joyful exchanges.

Montfort Innovation Time, as the expression suggests, is a gathering of Class VIII students of a few Montfort Schools for a One-day session on Innovation, Creativity, Communication, Team Work etc.

The day began with a short Campus Visit, which started at the tomb of the late Bro Thomas More, the Founder of Montfort Centre. We invoked the Blessings of God on everyone present through the intercession of Saint Thomas More.

The participants were happy to see the many facilities available for the education of the disabled and the commitment of the Brothers & staff towards their well-being.

At 8.30 a.m., a formal inauguration of the programme was held.

Soon, all the participants were divided into six new groups with boys and girls from every school. This facilitated the interaction, and the competitions began among the groups newly christened as Montfort Idols, Montfort Stars, Montfort Icons, Montfort Knights, Montfort Eagles and Montfort Legends.

The action then moved to the vast playfield where several activities like Fun with Words, Catch Me if You Can, Passing the Ring etc. were held. The competitions brought in a lot of planning, teamwork and friendly interactions, and the team spirit had a ring of passion and cooperation.

The Prizes at the Closing ceremony and the variety of combinations for the photo session had a tale of its own. Saying goodbye seemed difficult for quite a few students. It was not strange to see a silent sob, a tear as the curtain came down on M. I. T 2024.

The efforts of the Organizing team led by Bro Devid Tirkey, Tyngshain Nongsiej and Anand Kumar need special mention. The meticulous planning and the able support of the community made the event a memorable one. The presence of the Brothers & the staff who accompanied them added to the smooth conduct of the programme. All is well that ends well. Hats off to everyone
