Wake Up The World
The world meeting for young consecrated men and women was held at Vatican City- Rome from 15-19 September 2015 with the theme “Wake Up The World”. It was attended by 8 of our Brothers namely Bro. Mathias Ndione from Senegal, Bros. Julien Rasolonjatovo, Inigo Jeya Kumar, Francis Kennedy from Madagascar, Bros. Marcos Rodarte, Jose Carlos and a postulant from Brazil and Bro. Don Dominic from St. Laurent, France.
The conference was attended by more than 4000 consecrated men and women from 125 countries belonging to more than 500 religious congregations. In the general assembly presentations were based on looking at consecrated life after 50 years of the II Vatican Council. The presentations were focusing on looking at the future of consecrated life and the challenges that are posed today. The resource persons emphasized on the importance of expressing our charisams in new forms. The participants also had the opportunity to listen from Pope Francis. Pope Francis invited all the participants to give testimony to Jesus with our flesh and life and to have the capacity to really warm the heart of the people. In today’s world prophecy is to have closeness with God and others.
Afternoon sessions were held in different language groups. The group members shared their missionary experience and their own vocation story. It was also a time to know about different ways in which consecrated men and women are involved in diverse mission and ministry. The five day session concluded with the mass at St. Peter’s Basilica presided by His Eminence Joao Braz Cardinal de Aviz, Prefect.
