Montfortian Spirituality Retreats

Singapore: Montfort Centre organized recently two modules of Montfortian Spirituality Retreats, Love of the Eternal Wisdom and Christian Discipleship. The retreat for the Love of Eternal Wisdom was conducted from 14th to 16th July. This was a popular retreat and we had a full house attendance. The Christian Discipleship, which was based on the Prayer for Missionaries, was held from 17th to 19th July. This fell during the weekdays and attendance was rather low. A New Agricultural training centre for the BARA- community of Madagascar!

The population of Madagascar is made of eighteen ethnic groups. ‘BARA’ is an ethnic group who lives in the Region of Ihorombe in the south of the country.  Basically, these are ‘ZEBU’ (local breed of cows and bulls) raisers and some also involve in seasonal agriculture. This region has the world famous ISALO Mountains and the RANOHIRA and the water plays music falling from the mountains. Twenty-one (21) Capitulants gathered, on Wednesday night, at the Guest House of Kinsoundi (Congo Brazzaville) where the 7th Provincial Chapter was to be held. They came from six communities (Provincial House, Moungali, Makelekele, Pointe-Noire, Bertoua and Bangui). We are among the Religious Congregations that are working in the field of education in Madagascar. We have four nursery and primary schools, three high schools, three higher secondary schools, one professional training school, one training center in carpentry section and an institute for advanced studies. Recently, two of our newly started schools have been approved by the Education Ministry of Madagascar.
