Montfort centennial stamp released
Release of stamp, honouring former headmasters and teachers, and cultural programmes by students marked the Centennial Prize Nite celebrations at the Montfort Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Yercaud, on Saturday.
Arumugam, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Salem East Postal Division, released the Montfort centennial stamp and it was received by Bro. John Kallarackal, the Superior General, Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, Rome, chief guest.
Bro. K. M. Joseph, Assistant General of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, Bro. P.J. George, Provincial Superior of Yercaud province, M. J. Varkey, former MP, spoke on the occasion. School principal Bro. K. J. Varghese in his report recalled the various achievements of the students in curricular and co-curricular activities.
Bro. K. J. Varghese, principal; Bro. Augustine Novello, director; former principals Bro. K.J. George, Bro. K.V. Thomas, Bro. Selvanathan, Bro. Joseph Louis, Bro. Lawrence Joseph and the teachers who had rendered more than 25 years of service in the institution were honoured.
